Digital narratives are creative audiovisual works making use of different technologies (e.g. AR, machine-learning tools, sensors) to immerse the audience and offer meaningful interaction. In news media — caught up in the daily beat or in broadcasting — struggling to bring innovation into regular programming, digital narratives trickle in via external collaborations or special projects outside of their day to day work dynamics.In this panel, we will pull the audience into The Room of Resonance (2024), a project confronting the user with the phenomenon of echo chambers. From there, we will extract common features from two recent projects (Ciudad Perdida, 2022 and Field Trip, 2019) with the aim of finding out with the b° future festival audience whether digital narratives are particularly apt at stifling polarization, holding together different perspectives and unleashing narrative innovation.
