Last October, Aftonbladet launched an AI-hub, a cross-functional group of seven people (developers, UX, editorial) who work full-time to identify, test, and implement various AI solutions in the Aftonbladet organization as well as educate Aftonbladet's employees on new technology). Since then we have put out a number of tools, services and products on the market:

  • We recently launched a chatbot for the EU elections, which has been a great success. Even though we know it's not a particularly engaging topic, the bot has answered over 50,000 questions (!).
  • AI generated summaries in articles
  • We have educated everyone at Aftonbladet in our ”How to become a prompt queen” master class
  • Cloned voices, text to speech, a chat with Sweden’s first king(!), AI generated fact boxes and much, much more! The hub's mission is also to inspire and educate the newsroom in how to - and how not to - use AI. In this presentation, the leaders of the hub will share learnings, failures and successes from this ambitious project.
