In this mega election year with 60+ countries hosting elections, multiple global conflicts and harrowing images on social media (both real and AI-generated), journalists need mental health protection more than ever. Join us for a workshop and discussion about The Self-Investigation's Mental Health Leadership Framework for the Media. We will look at case studies from our extensive client projects with organizations like AFP, The Guardian and IFCN. We will share practical insights that will benefit anyone working in journalism and content creation, such as common challenges around stress, mental health and burnout, especially while managing heavy workloads, establishing mechanisms for peer support and safe spaces for sharing, and navigating the unique pressures of election coverage in particular. We will also share a preview of our guide to mental health leadership in newsrooms and provide some insights from the Mental Health in Journalism Summit, happening a few days after the festival.
