"The best camera is the one that’s with you" is a photographers’ motto. In other words: smartphone cameras are democratizing visual reporting. You no longer need an expensive professional camera to create high-quality documentary images and you don't need a university degree to become visually literate. The documentary instinct and the smartphone camera give everyone a visual voice.
Just a few technical and photojournalistic skills make the difference between a cell phone snaphot and a photographic document. This compact, immersive workshop offers an introduction to visual storytelling with the smartphone.
Participants will be involved through Q & A's, practical challenges and interactive photo reviews. They are invited to take their own images during the workshop, share them and have them analyzed.
