Anne-Sophie Brändlin has been working for DW as an online and radio reporter, TV and social media producer and presenter since 2013. She’s been part of DW News’ social media team from day one and has helped develop several formats.
She studied journalism in Berlin, Sydney, Berkeley, Amsterdam and Aarhus and has worked for outlets like AJ+ and PBS Newshour.
In her reporting, she goes beyond the typical doom and gloom narrative and has focused on covering responses to social problems. She’s embarked on a low-carbon climate road trip from Berlin to Paris in search of climate solutions ahead of COP21, met with researchersworking on a homegrown COVID-19 vaccine in Sao Paulo, visited a cuddle therapist in Leipzig who’s helping depressed people during the pandemic and found out how a German village has managed to go off grid and become energy self-sufficient.
