The global climate crisis demands a radically different approach to how journalists and scientists engage with each other. Traditionally, these two disciplines have had contentious relationships. But the two disciplines have more in common with each other than their differences reveal. At a time when the public needs more equitable and actionable communication, we propose a different way of working with each other –immersion, engagement and even collaboration between scientists and journalists.
