Gilda Sahebi is a trained physician and studied political science. She works as a freelance journalist focusing on anti-semitism and racism, women's rights, the Middle East and science. She is an author for the German newspaper taz and the magazine Der Spiegel and works for the German television station ARD, among others. Since the death of Jina Mahsa Amini and the subsequent protest movement, she has been reporting intensively on events in Iran. In 2022, Focus magazine named her one of the "100 Women of the Year," and Medium Magazin named her Journalist of the Year in the Politics section.
