For almost twenty years, Marc worked as a foreign correspondent, first in Nairobi, then in Geneva at the United Nations. Now he runs CORRECTIV's digital research platform, the CrowdNewsroom, which allows you to listen to hundreds of people at once and use what they have to say to expose social ills: From rent overcharging to dangerous school routes to climate-friendly urban development.
Marc was born in Cologne. He studied geography, marine biology and public law in Kiel and philosophy at the Fernuni Hagen. After a traineeship at the German regional broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk, he worked for the flagship news program of German national public-service broadcaster ARD, Tagesschau, for several years before freelancing abroad for radio, television, agencies and newspapers as a member of the Netzwerk Weltreporter. He has also written and edited numerous books. His book "World Community on the Brink. Why we need a strong UN" was awarded the "Prix Nicolas Bouvier" in 2018.
