Journalistic traineeship, studies in history and political science at the University of Kassel, as well as constitutional, social, and economic history at the University of Bonn. He was a scholarship holder of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, where he worked in seminar and event conception at the Journalist Academy from July 2020 to February 2022 after many years of freelance journalistic work. Since July 2022, Marcus Hammes has been responsible for the content work of the Journalist Academy. Additionally, he works as a freelance journalist, writer, and trainer on media topics in adult education.
