How do you investigate networks of hate that exist online, without focusing only on the few people whose names or accounts you can identify? This panel will discuss the research methods we used, the ethical questions we faced, and the parts we couldn't prove. We'll talk about why this kind of journalism tries to find the bigger picture and patterns to call out layers of accountability and identify potential solutions, instead of blaming individuals for a much larger problem.
