Charlie Beckett ist Professor für Medien und Kommunikation an der London School of Economics. Er ist der Gründer und Leiter von Polis, dem internationalen Journalismus-Thinktank der LSE. Beckett leitet derzeit das Polis-Projekt zu Journalismus und KI. Vor seiner akademischen Laufbahn arbeitete er als Journalist unter anderem für die BBC und erhielt für seine Arbeit mehrere Preise. Beckett begann seine Nachrichtenkarriere bei der South London Press und beendete sie als Programmredakteur bei Channel 4 News.
